As one of the top performing rural hospitals in the country, Loring Hospital in Sac City was recently recognized for overall excellence in Quality and Patient Perspective by The Chartis Center for Rural Health/Vantage Health Analytics. A data-driven program captures performance metrics across a broad spectrum of indicators and public data sources for all rural and Critical Access Hospitals. These numbers are then sorted into three major categories and eight pillars to determine the single strength rating for each facility. “We are honored to be recognized by our patients recognizing our excellence in care,” says Kara Wellington, a Loring Hospital nurse manager. “Each patient is different and has unique healthcare needs. Our job is to make sure every patient receives quality care every day,” she adds. Loring’s Quality Manager, Michele Dettman, says she and the entire staff take pride in the work they do and the care they provide to the people they serve in Sac County and the surrounding area. “Our quality programs and goals are a reflection of what our population needs and deserves in Sac County—quality healthcare, delivered as close to home as possible,” she says.
