Ames Man Arrested In Connection To Nov. 6 Power Lift Theft

The Jefferson Police Department has arrested an Ames man believed to be the suspect behind a Nov. 6 theft from a Jefferson business. At approximately 8:12 p.m. Friday night, an officer performed a traffic stop in the 700 block of Wild Rose Lane. The vehicle’s driver, 64-year-old Bradley Jon Vanwyk, was known to the officer to be wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant and was taken into custody. He is charged with third degree burglary, an aggravated misdemeanor, driving while suspended and failure to provide proof of financial liability. The warrant stems from a Nov. 6 investigation into the theft of tools from Power Lift in the 900 block of East Highway 30.
