The St. Anthony Regional Hospital (SARH) Auxiliary has made a sizable donation to the hospital in support of cancer care. On Monday, the Auxiliary board of directors presented a $25,000 check to SARH President and CEO, Ed Smith, and Development Director, Trish Roberts. “Our Auxiliary, which includes 378 members, has an important role in welcoming patients and families at St. Anthony,” says Smith. “They greet patients at the front desk and surgery center, make blankets for newborns and other patients and operate the coffee and gift shop. They also hold various fundraising events throughout the year,” he adds. This year’s donation represents the auxiliary’s annual commitment to financially support the initiatives of the hospital that are vital to patients in our region. The donation will be used to advance the care provided to patients receiving cancer treatment at St. Anthony. The auxiliary also provides scholarships to students from Carroll, Kuemper and Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) who are pursuing a nursing education.
