In some of their end-of-the-calendar-year business, Carroll County was presented with their updated insurance coverage and premiums by Mid Iowa Insurance agent, Terry Axman. He recently told county supervisors that the City of Carroll is directly responsible for a big reduction in their annual premium, even though their property valuations rose by around $7 million.

He says there were a variety of different ways that Carroll Fire Chief, Greg Schreck, was able to work to bring the city’s protection class down two steps.

The increase in property values was the result of changes made through a recent re-evaluation of the county’s buildings. The county will also receive a member credit discount of more than $25,000.
