Temperatures have finally been cold enough in the listening area for Carroll’s ice skating rink to open up for the season. City Manager, Mike Pogge-Weaver, says they have been waiting for weeks to open it up for public use.
This is the second year of operation for the rink located in Rolling Hills Park on the south side of Carroll. The tennis courts found there serve as the base for the skating surface. Pogge-Weaver says it should be open through winter barring any unusual weather.
Pogge-Weaver adds the tennis court lights will allow the rink to remain lit past sunset. Operating hours will be from dawn until 9 p.m. while available. The rink is managed similarly to other parks in Carroll, meaning there will not be any extra supervision while it is open.
