The Iowa Department of Public Safety announced Tuesday a new Public Information Officer (PIO). A sergeant with the Iowa State Patrol, Nathan Ludwig, will be returning to a position he held for two years before leaving in March to assist with the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy. Ludwig officially takes over the Public Information Officer duties effective Wednesday, Dec. 27. All general inquiries regarding the Iowa State Patrol or open record requests will be handled through his office. State Trooper, Alex Dinkla, held the position before Ludwig was announced as the new PIO.
