A Glidden man is facing two misdemeanor charges after he is reported for taking a vehicle without the owner’s permission. At approximately 10:55 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 16, the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to 26676 Zephyr Ave., southeast of Glidden. Deputies took a report from the victim that a 2002 Saturn had been taken by 30-year-old Travis Jeffrey Barker, who also resided at that address. While taking the report, Barker called the victim, stating that he was bringing the car back. Deputies waited, and when he arrived, it appeared as if he was intoxicated. A field sobriety test was administered and Barker was subsequently arrested and transported to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office. A breath test was administered and Barker’s Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) was recorded at .130. He was booked on a charge of operating while intoxicated, first offense, a serious misdemeanor, and operating a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent, an aggravated misdemeanor. Barker was released after an appearance before the magistrate.
