Storm Lake Student Charged With Terrorism For Leaving Threatening Note At School

A juvenile male was arrested at Storm Lake High School Thursday for leaving a note threatening to harm other students. The Storm Lake Police Department responded to 621 Tornado Dr. at approximately 10:28 a.m. after being contacted by school officials. Officers arrived and learned a 15-year-old student had left the note inside the school. The note was collected as evidence, and the juvenile was taken into custody for questioning. At approximately 1 p.m., authorities arrested the boy and charged him with making threats of terrorism, a class D felony. The student was released into the custody of a guardian. His case has been forwarded to Buena Vista County Juvenile Court Services.
