St. Anthony Regional Hospital Limits Visitation Due To High Numbers Of Influenza Cases

The St. Anthony Regional Hospital (SARH) and Nursing Home is temporarily limiting visitation to several of their facilities due to the high number of influenza cases in the region. St. Anthony Regional Hospital is encouraging individuals who are experiencing flu-like symptoms, such as fever, chills or body aches, to avoid visiting the nursing home or hospital to reduce the flu’s impact. Currently, only parents and grandparents may visit newborns at the Birth Place at St. Anthony. These recommendations have been made in order to protect individuals most at risk from influenza. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) projects the flu season could last as late as May, and St. Anthony is reminding individuals who have not yet received a vaccination to do so. If a flu shot is not possible, wash your hands often to prevent the spread of germs, avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth after contact with others and cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze to avoid passing germs to others. If you are uncertain if you should visit friends or family members receiving care, contact St. Anthony Regional Hospital and Nursing Home first at 792-3581.
