Lake City officials are eyeing a potential renovation to city hall in order to create additional offices in the building. An overhaul was being considered for quite some time and only moved to the forefront after the Lake City Betterment Board indicated they would like a more permanent space. City Administrator, Eric Wood, says any changes would require existing offices to be relocated.
Western Days, Fall Fest and Christmas in a Small Town are just a few of the many events the board puts on each year. According to Wood, that takes a lot of time and effort from the Betterment. He says they need many of the same services that city hall already has and helping them helps Lake City.
The city has already started performing a needs and cost analysis on the project. Wood says while they are at it, they will try to make the building more accessible.
Wood adds additional details on the potential project will be available in March after more information on costs and feasibility is gathered.
