Earlier this week, the Carroll Chamber of Commerce named the second-ever winner of the Young Professional of the Year Award during its annual banquet. The Carroll Young Professionals (CYP) was formed in 2004 and works in conjunction with the Chamber of Commerce to host events throughout the community. The evening’s host, Mike Franey, says the award is specifically for members between the ages of 21 and 45 and explained what qualifications an individual needs to be considered for this honor.
Last year’s recipient, Dr. Michelle Sturm, introduced the 2017 Young Professional of the Year.
Scott graduated from Carroll High School (CHS) in 2004 and studied at Buena Vista University (BVU) before graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Communications from the University of Northern Iowa (UNI). He currently serves as president of Fusebox Marketing, which opened its Carroll location in 2017. Sturm describes him as an asset to the community.
Scott served on the Chamber board from 2012-14 and sat on the CYP Steering Committee from 2012-17. He also played an integral role in the success of Carrollfest in its inaugural year in 2013. Scott will be live on 1380 KCIM AM radio tomorrow (Friday) morning in the 8 a.m. hour to talk more about his work in the community and what the award means to him. Carroll Broadcasting will bring you more from the Carroll Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet in upcoming broadcasts. A list of award winners can be found included below.
