The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office and Carroll Police Department are working on a joint Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)-sponsored Drug Take-back Day on Saturday April 28. Sheriff Ken Pingrey says they will be set up by the overhead garage doors on the south side of the police department in the Farner Government Building from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. He points out that there are some guidelines as to what can and cannot be delivered to them on that day.
Pingrey says this is the first event for him, but they have a drop-off box at the Sheriff’s Office that has been very successful in helping residents dispose of medications that are no longer needed. A few days after the collection, the DEA will be coming to Carroll to pick up what has been turned in.
Those unable to make it to the drug take-back event on April 28 can drop the items off in the permanent drop box outside the Sheriff’s Office on the lower level of the Carroll County Courthouse.
