Five Iowa projects have received grants from the Iowa Agriculture Literacy Foundation, with one of these going to the Cultivate Training Garden in Storm Lake. Organized by the Bridge of Storm Lake, this project focuses on the immigrant and refugee families in the community, working to provide training and agriculture curriculums to individuals through a master gardener at the training garden. Purchased food will be combined with the harvested vegetables to help increase knowledge and create connections to the agriculture industry. Grants of up to $1,000 were awarded to each of these five initiatives. Other recipients include Trees for Threes in Tipton, Dream Big Dreams-Footsteps of Carver Day Camp in Winterset, aROUND the farm in the BARN in Le Mars and Libraries Rock and Agriculture Rocks and Rolls! in Marshalltown.
