On Friday, May 11, Gov. Kim Reynolds will be joining many others in honoring six officers killed in the line of duty during a special ceremony at 10 a.m. at the Iowa Peace Officer’s Memorial in Des Moines. Each of the six officers died while serving to protect and keep Iowa communities safe. Some died many years ago and others more recently, such as Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Deputy Mark Burbridge, who was killed May 1, 2017 when a prisoner escaped during a court transfer.
