The Greene County Sheriff’s Office responded to three property damage incidents on Thursday. At approximately 1:43 a.m., a deputy and the Grand Junction Fire Department were called to a car fire in the 1200 block of East Main Street in Grand Junction. No cause of the fire was reported, but a 1996 Ford F-250 was totaled. At approximately 4 p.m., Sheriff, Jack Williams, a deputy, and an officer with the Jefferson Police Department responded to a single-vehicle accident on 237th Street near Jordan Avenue, just east of Jefferson. The investigation revealed that 18-year-old Immanuel Jubell of Scranton had lost control of a 2005 Ford Taurus and entered the south ditch, where he struck a drive. And then at approximately 8:32 p.m., a deputy investigated a car/deer accident on 230th Street near S Avenue, east of Grand Junction. A 2010 Toyota Prius, driven by 70-year-old Josefina Stevens of Jefferson, was struck by the deer, causing $1,400 in damages. No injuries were reported in that accident.
