Greene County Authorities Respond To Three Weekend Accidents

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office reports one backing and two deer accidents over the weekend. At approximately 6:17 p.m. on Saturday, June 9, a deputy was called to Spring Lake Park east of Jefferson. The investigation into the incident revealed that 70-year-old Janet Padgett of Harcourt backed a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado into a parked 2013 Dodge Avenger. Damage was reported only on the Avenger at approximately $5,000. That same night, at approximately 9:50 p.m., a 2007 Dodge Durango, driven by 48-year-old Paul Gehling of Scranton, struck a deer on D Avenue, north of Scranton. There was an estimated $500 damage to the Durango. The last reported accident occurred at around 10:56 p.m. on Sunday. Forty-year-old Heather Booth of Bagley struck a deer on J Avenue near 237th Street, west of Jefferson. There was an estimated $5,000 in damage to the 2004 Dodge Durango she was driving.
