The annual Dedham Celebration is coming up in just a few weeks, and organizers are encouraging area residents to join them on June 30 for this longstanding community tradition. The event is held the final Saturday in June every year and put on by the Dedham Booster Club, the Dedham Fire Department and the Dedham Legion Family. Beth Seidl, a member of the booster club, says the event is a great way to catch up with friends and is designed for the whole family.
The festivities begin at 4 p.m. with a four-wheeler pull, but the celebration really gets started at 6 p.m. when the beer garden, games and food stands open. New to the schedule of events is a pie and hot dog eating contest. Seidl says they want as big of a crowd as possible and have kept the cost of participation low to encourage everybody to attend.
Seidl adds that not only is the Dedham Celebration a great time, it also serves as a fundraiser to support community projects and organizations.
Money has also been used to purchase new equipment for the fire department and fund scholarships through the Dedham American Legion. Live music will be provided by 2 ½ Guitars starting at 9 p.m., and a fireworks display is held at dusk. A full schedule of events can be found included below this story.
