Carroll Woman Accused Of Assaulting Driver Sentenced To Two Day In Jail In Plea Agreement

A Carroll woman accused of assaulting the driver of a vehicle in which she was a passenger has reached a plea agreement with prosecutors. Thirty-five-year-old Jennifer Lynn Stricker was originally charged with assault causing bodily injury, a serious misdemeanor, and violation of a no contact order, a simple misdemeanor. The charges stem from an incident on June 8. According to court records, Stricker became aggravated and attacked Amanda Rae Allyn, of Little Sioux, causing bruising and bite marks. She was later found walking along Highway 30 with an individual who had an existing no contact order against her, 41-year-old Matthew Ryan Halsey, of Dow City. In exchange for her guilty plea, prosecutors dismissed one count of violation of a no contact order and reduced the assault charge to a simple misdemeanor. Stricker was sentenced to two days in the Carroll County jail with credit for time served and placed on unsupervised probation for a period of one year.
