The Sac County Engineer’s Office is closing a portion of 190th Street for an extended length of time in order to complete reconstruction and repaving of the roadway. The three-mile stretch between Nemaha and U.S. Highway 71 is expected to remain closed to thru-traffic for approximately eight weeks depending on weather conditions, but it will stay open to local traffic for the duration of the project. A detour route will take travelers three miles south on Highway 71 to Highway 20, three miles east to Needham Avenue and then three miles north to Nemaha. Officials remind motorists to use caution when traveling near any construction project. Residents with questions can contact the Sac County Engineer’s Office directly at 712-662-7687.
