A total of $64,400 will be distributed to charitable causes and organizations in Carroll and Sac Counties through the Gilbert and Barbara Renze Foundation. This year’s recipients include the Arcadia, Glidden and Ralston Firefighters Associations and the cities of Lake View and Breda for the purchase of Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) as well as $6,000 for electrical upgrades and the installation of a flag pole at the Carroll City Cemetery, $4,000 for fire protection updates at the Odebolt public library and $9,400 to the City of Wall Lake for a new Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant restroom and concession stand. With this years’ disbursements, the Renze Foundation has granted more than $594,000. Trustee for the foundation is Iowa Savings Bank of Carroll.
