The Carroll Police Department reports they arrested a Des Moines man over the weekend for allegedly stealing up to $500 worth of farm equipment from a Carroll business. According to court records, 38-year-old Jared Nathan Ransom was taken into custody Sunday on one count of fourth-degree theft, a serious misdemeanor. The charge stems from an incident on the evening of Friday, Aug. 24. At approximately 9:45 p.m., Ransom allegedly entered the Carroll Machinery Auction lot and removed a sprayer tank and tire machine from the property. He was transported to the Carroll County jail and released after posting a $1,000 surety bond.
