A Carroll man was taken into custody last week after authorities located video evidence showing him attempt to gain entry into a parked vehicle. According to court records, the Carroll Police Department arrested 19-year-old Cole Jason Eischeid on Thursday for third-degree attempted burglary, a serious misdemeanor. The charge stems from an incident on Aug. 1. The criminal complaint alleges Eischeid was caught on video approaching a vehicle in the 800 block of Troy Drive at approximately 1:33 a.m. The video shows him walk up to the driver’s side door, look around and attempt to enter the vehicle. About three minutes later, Eischeid is seen walking by the vehicle again on the sidewalk. Authorities say the area has multiple reports of vehicles being gone during the night hours. Eischeid was released on his own recognizance after appearing before a magistrate and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Thursday, Sept. 27 at the Carroll County Courthouse.
