Formal Charges Now Include Card Fraud For Auburn Woman Accused Of Stealing Debit Card

Prosecutors have filed fraud charges against an Auburn woman, who was originally arrested for theft. According to court records, 51-year-old Julie Anne Wells is formally charged with two counts of credit card fraud, aggravated misdemeanors, and one count of fourth-degree theft, a serious misdemeanor. The charges stem from an investigation by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office into a Glidden resident’s report that their debit card had been stolen and used to make unauthorized purchases of more than $350. Wells is scheduled to appear for an arraignment hearing on Thursday, Oct. 11 at the Carroll County Courthouse. If found guilty on all counts, she faces up to five years in prison and fines not to exceed $14,375.
