The Sac City Fire Department will be hosting their second annual hog roast fundraiser this coming Saturday. Members of the department say that the first year of the fundraiser saw an outpouring of community support and helped them with the purchase of a new ladder truck as well as tools to outfit the vehicle along with new airpacks. This year, they will be using the funds raised to go toward the replacement of their water tanker, which they says is rapidly approaching the end of its useful lifespan. The pulled pork dinner will be served at the 4-H Building on the Sac County Fairgrounds in Sac City, beginning at 5 p.m. Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for children five years old and up. Those under five eat free. These can be purchased from and Sac City Fire Department member or at the door. To go boxes will also be available.
