The Carroll City Council will once again meet in the second-floor council chambers at the Farner Government Building, but a proposed public hearing will not be on the agenda. City Manager, Mike Pogge-Weaver, says that they are still ironing out some fine points with Kenyon Hill Ridge, LLC, the developers of the Carroll Park Apartments on Bella Vista Drive.
Pogge-Weaver explains where they are at with the project right now.
The council will however, hear a presentation from the Carroll County Jail Committee and discuss a policy change for the Carroll Police Department relative to the inventorying and towing of vehicles. He says these come off some court cases not related to the City of Carroll, but they do need to change their procedures.
Bids are in for the proposed updates to the tennis courts at Northwest Park for use as pickleball courts. Two bids were received with more than $86,000 in difference between them. Badding Construction was the lowest, with a total base bid of $278,500. Midwest Track and Tennis came in at $364,677. Council members will be asked to decide if they will be moving forward with the pickleball resurfacing and awarding the bid. They will also look at resolutions to issue debt in order to reimburse the city for expenditures made in the Carroll Public Library and City Hall projects and for the Northeast Park Master Plan and the incorporation of Kellan’s Kingdom, an all-inclusive playground. The meeting will convene at 5:15 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8 and the public is encouraged to attend. A link to the agenda and a full packet of information can be found here.
