The Kuemper High School student body is searching for people in need of a helping hand as they prepare for their annual service day. This year’s volunteer event will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 30. Students donate their time and effort throughout Carroll each fall, and Brooklyn Foley, a freshman at Kuemper, says they can perform almost any task.
Foley adds that there are limitations on jobs that require a ladder or heights. The only thing missing is people submitting or suggesting projects for the students to complete. Senior, Mary Lawler, has volunteered during service day for the last three years. According to her, showing young people that they can make a difference is just as important as the work they complete.
The deadline to submit project ideas is Wednesday, Oct. 24. Suggestions can be submitted by phone, email or in person at the Kuemper High School office. Contact points can be found included with this story on our website.
