Fort Dodge Man Who Fled From Law Enforcement In Stolen Car Sentenced To Prison Time

A Fort Dodge man who fled from law enforcement in a stolen vehicle this summer has been ordered to serve time in prison. According to court records, 36-year-old Andrew Lee Jensen entered a guilty plea to one count of eluding at speeds 25 mph over the limit, an aggravated misdemeanor. The charge stems from an incident on June 26, in which Jensen fled from authorities in a 2010 Ford Fusion that had been reported stolen out of Fort Dodge. On Thursday, a Carroll County District Court judge sentenced Jensen to two years in prison, to be served concurrently with a two-year term in Webster County for operating a motor vehicle without owner’s consent, an aggravated misdemeanor, and three five-year terms on multiple second-degree theft charges in Greene and Dallas Counties. In exchange for his plea, prosecutors agreed to drop several traffic and speeding violations. Jensen will be transported to the Iowa Medical and Classification Center in Oakdale and transferred into the custody of the Iowa Department of Corrections.
