Carroll Man Receives Deferred Judgement On Child Endangerment Charge

A Carroll man charged with child endangerment has entered a guilty plea and received a deferred judgment. According to court records, 26-year-old Devin DeShazo submitted his written plea in Carroll County District Court last week and was ordered on Monday to pay $625 in fines. The aggravated misdemeanor charge stems from an incident in late June, in which he admits to striking a three-year-old child hard enough to leave bruising for more than five days. In exchange for his guilty plea, DeShazo was granted a deferred judgment, meaning court records regarding the case will be expunged if he successfully completes one-year of unsupervised probation.
