Carroll Teen Says She Did Not Know What To Do After Hitting Bus Near High School Thursday

The driver of a vehicle that left the scene of an accident on Grant Road Thursday afternoon has been located. The Carroll Police Department reports that school officials assisted with the investigation into the 2:09 p.m. incident, in which the driver struck one of the district’s buses. They identified the driver as 15-year-old Nicole Marie Wiese of Carroll. Upon contacting Wiese, she confirmed that she had struck the bus while leaving the parking lot in her mother’s 2009 Chevrolet Equinox. She told authorities she had turned too wide while making a turn and hit the other vehicle. She did not know what to do, so she left the scene, then told her mother what had happened. No injuries were reported and damage to the bus was minor, estimated at about $250. Damage to the Equinox is estimated at approximately $1,600. Wiese was cited for an improper turn.
