Mass of the Christian Burial for 86-year-old Norbert “Fiddle” Grote of Carroll, formerly of Glidden, will be Tuesday at 10:30 am at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Carroll with burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery where military honors will be conducted by the Breda American Legion. Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll after 4 pm Monday where there will be a Carroll Knights of Columbus Rosary at 5 and a Christian Wake Service at 7 Monday evening. Visitation will resume at the church from 9:30 to 10:15 Tuesday morning prior the Mass. Norbert Grote is survived by his children: Laura Mayer of Texas, Susan VanScoy of Grimes, Teena Cantu of Texas, Thomas of Audubon, and Jacklyn Grote of Carroll….9 grandchildren….12 great grandchildren….and his siblings: Jack of Carroll, James of Arizona, Bill of Wisconsin, Ted of Illinois, Jeane Rosener of Nebraska, Mary Sailer of Manning, Alice Hamilton of Jefferson, and Judy Olberding of Iowa Falls.
