A Carroll man has been sentenced to serve time in the Carroll County jail for punching another man. According to District Court records, 18-year-old Tristen Jack Palen-Wood pled guilty to one count of assault, a simple misdemeanor, after reach an agreement with prosecutors. The charge stems from an incident at an apartment in the 900 block of North East Street on May 22. The Carroll Police Department reports in a criminal complaint that he was seen on video at approximately 2 a.m. pushing the victim down and punching him at least twice. On Tuesday, Oct. 30, Palen-Wood was sentenced to serve 30 days in the Carroll County jail with all but two days suspended and credit for time served. He was also ordered to pay court costs, attorney fees and restitution and placed on unsupervised probation for one year.
