The Lake City City Council has voted to create a shared marketing position between themselves, the Lake City Betterment and the South Central Calhoun (SCC) Community School District. According to Administrator, Eric Wood, the three entities have been in discussions for the past several months to determine if and what type of position was needed. Wood says they made the final decision last night (Monday)
The shared marketing director will spend 30 hours per week between the city, school and Betterment helping to promote area activities and helping out wherever needed. Wood says they have not started accepting applications yet, but they do have an idea of the type of person they are hoping will apply.
The three groups will be working together over the next several days to compile a more detailed qualifications list. Once completed, they will begin advertising for the position and hope to have a new marketing director hired in the next four to six weeks.
