Casey’s And Iowa Lottery Will Announce Plans For Bonus Money From Redfield Powerball Sale

Casey’s General Store, Inc. and the Iowa Lottery have announced they will be hosting a press conference at 10 a.m. on Tuesday in Redfield to discuss the recent sale of a nearly $344 million Powerball ticket. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for the sale of the Iowa Lottery ticket, and will announce the three local civic organizations in Redfield who will receive a portion of those proceeds as well as a community-wide event that will help to “spread the fun.” Last Monday, Lerynne West came forward to claim the winning ticket at the Clive Lottery Headquarters. She says that she has formed the Callum Foundation, named after her grandson who was born premature and lived only one day after being born. The foundation was developed for West and her family to fund causes and organizations of importance to them. West opted for the lump sum payout of $198.1 million dollars, which came to about $140.6 million after taxes. The largest jackpot ever won in Iowa was only half of the total Powerball prize, the other winning ticket was sold in New York.
