Airbags were deployed and one driver injured in a two-vehicle accident Wednesday morning in Carroll. At approximately 10:08 a.m., the Carroll Police and Fire Departments responded to the scene on Clark Street, near the intersection with 5th Street. Upon arrival, they learned that two vehicles were driving southbound, the first a 2018 GMC Yukon that was being driven by 32-year-old Tasha Lynn Minnehan of Churdan. Minnehan was stopped behind a semi on Clark when she was struck from behind by a 2003 Nissan Altima, driven by 17-year-old Elizabeth Mary Trent of Carroll. The force of the impact caused the Altima’s airbags to deploy, and Trent was transported by Carroll County Emergency Medical Services to St. Anthony Regional Hospital for treatment of injuries received. Minnehan was uninjured in the incident. There was an estimated $1,500 in damage to the Yukon, and the Altima was considered a total loss with more than $3,000 in damages. Trent will be cited for failure to maintain control.
