Carroll Woman Accused Of Stealing A Vehicle In Indiana Charged With Felony Theft

A Carroll woman has been arrested on a felony charge for allegedly stealing a vehicle in Indiana. According to court records, the Carroll Police Department was contacted at approximately 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30 by a man stating his 2006 Isuzu Ascender had been stolen by his girlfriend, 31-year-old Samantha Macias. The victim reported the SUV had been taken on Nov. 28 and believed Macias was using it to visit her ex-boyfriend, Jacob Segura, in Carroll. Officers located the vehicle at his residence in the 800 block of N. Clark Street and verified it had been reported stolen. Officers made contact with Segura, who told police that Macias was not in his residence. The officer informed him that he would be leaving to get a search warrant, and while gone, a second officer witnessed Macias leaving the apartment. She was taken into custody and later admitted to taking the vehicle. She told authorities that the reason she had done so was due to being in a bad relationship, but she had not reported any of the alleged incidents to law enforcement. Macias was transported to the Carroll County jail and charged with second-degree theft, a class D felony, and probation violation, a serious misdemeanor. She pled not guilty at an initial appearance on Saturday, Dec. 1 and was released on a promise to appear for her next court hearing on Thursday, Dec. 20.
