A Manning woman, who is accused of motor vehicle theft, has entered a not guilty plea to three felony charges and is scheduled for trial in Carroll County District Court in early 2019. According to court records, 23-year-old Alexis Anmarie Hansen faces two counts of second-degree theft and one count of third-offense possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, all class D felonies. The charges stem from an investigation into two vehicles that were reported stolen last year. On Sept. 20, 2017, Hansen was found in possession of a missing 2014 Chevrolet pickup and 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix. The Manning Police Department later conducted a consent search of her home in the 60 block of Sue Street and located a green leafy substance that later tested positive as marijuana. Hansen pled not guilty to all charges last week, and a judge scheduled her trial to begin on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2019 at the Carroll County Courthouse. If found guilty on all counts, she faces a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison and $22,500 in fines. Forty-one-year-old Kyle Gene Lohrmann, also of Manning, was also charged in connection to the thefts, but the felony counts were dismissed after he reached a plea agreement with prosecutors. He was granted a deferred judgment on a remaining drug charge and was sentenced to one year of probation.
