Carroll Authorities Respond To Two More Accidents On Tuesday

Tuesday saw another pair of accidents in the Carroll city limits, one consisting of more extensive property damage than the other. The Carroll Police Department responded to the first at approximately 8 a.m. at U.S. Highway 30 and Maple Street. Thirty-eight-year-old Wendy Vonnahme of Carroll had stopped her 2008 Saturn Outlook facing westbound at the intersection, waiting to negotiate a left-hand turn. A 2008 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by 18-year-old Alexis Ragaller of Carroll was traveling westbound, but failed to stop for traffic and struck the rear of the Vonnahme Outlook. No injuries were reported, but there was significant damage done to both vehicles. Ragaller was cited for failure to maintain control. The second incident occurred at approximately 12:14 p.m. in the 1800 block of Benjamin Street. A 2009 Toyota Rav4 was legally parked facing north on Benjamin, and was struck by a 1992 Jeep Cherokee, driven by 27-year-old Luke Crampton of Treynor. Crampton was attempting to park when he struck the front passenger side. Only minor damage was reported and Crampton was cited for failure to maintain control.
