No injuries were reported in two separate accidents in Carroll this past Sunday and Monday. The Carroll Police Department reports they responded to the first accident on Sunday at approximately 9:26 a.m. on Highway 30 near Carroll Street. A 2015 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 41-year-old Michael Loeffelholz of Carroll, was eastbound on Highway 30 in the inside lane. At the same time, a 2015 Ford F-250, driven by 42-year-old Brent Schurke of Vail was also traveling eastbound, but in the outside lane. Schurke says he did not see the Loeffelholz vehicle when he attempted to change lanes and struck the truck on the front passenger’s side. There was only minor damage to the vehicles and Schurke was cited for improper use of lanes. The second accident occurred at approximately 3:24 p.m. at the intersection of West and 18th Streets. A 2015 Toyota Prius, driven by 77-year-old Dale Reiff of Carroll, was northbound on West Street. A 2009 Chevrolet Impala, driven by 23-year-old Megan Worley of Carroll, was westbound on 19th Street. Reiff entered the intersection, but had not yielded to the Worley vehicle and was struck in the passenger’s side of the Prius. There was functional damage to both vehicles. Reiff was cited for failure to obey a stop sign.
