Man Accused Of Stealing WWII-Era Stove From Coon Rapids Cabin Now Faces Felony Charge

A Coon Rapids man, who is accused of stealing a World War II-era stove from a rural cabin, now faces a felony charge in District Court for Carroll County. Twenty-three-year-old Wyatt Armstrong Davis was arrested on Feb. 8 and originally faced a single count of third-degree theft, an aggravated misdemeanor. However, formal charges, which were filed on Feb. 19, now include an added count of third-degree burglary, a class D felony. The charges stem from an investigation into a theft report from the 29000 block of Sycamore Avenue. Davis is accused of entering the cabin in early January, taking the stove and installing it in his detached garage at his Coon Rapids home. Davis’ arraignment hearing is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 28 at the Carroll County Courthouse. If found guilty of both counts, he faces a maximum penalty of seven years in prison and nearly $14,000 in fines.
