Former Glidden-Ralston School Employee Sentenced To Prison Time For Sexual Exploitation Of A Student

A former Glidden-Ralston Community School District employee has been sentenced to prison time after pleading guilty to two counts related to the sexual exploitation of a student. Twenty-nine-year-old Evan Michael Genter of Glidden was sentenced in the Iowa District Court for Carroll County on Thursday. In the class D felony charge of lascivious acts with a child, Genter was sentenced to five years in prison with credit for time served. That entire sentence, that was to run consecutively with the other charge of indecent contact with a child, was suspended. However, documents state that the court issued concurrent special sentences for the two counts because of the facts and circumstances of the case and that there were multiple contacts with the child. These special sentences order Genter to serve a period of 10 years on the first and second count. In addition, Genter is to be remanded to the custody of the Carroll County Sheriff for a period of incarceration not to exceed six months, with credit for time served. Genter was arrested last March based on witness statements and his own admission that between Jan 5 and March 9 of 2018, he engaged in illegal behavior with a minor while an employee of the district.
