The next meeting of the Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education is scheduled for Monday, March 18, and the agenda shows the introduction of employee bargaining proposals, Fiscal Year (FY) 2020 budget preparations and athletic program sharing will be the main topics of discussion. Every year, the Carroll Education Support Association and Carroll Education Association begin negotiating their terms of employment. Interim Superintendent, Marty Fonley, says the two groups will make their initial proposals at Monday’s meeting.

Once the propels are received, the board will begin the negotiation process. School officials will also review and approve agreements with nine other schools for shared athletic programs during the 2019-2020 school year. Fonley says nearly all of these contracts have existed for several years.

The only differences from last year in those agreements are Harlan Community High School is requesting to be added to the Carroll boys swim team and Panorama High School is not participating in the girls swim team. The district’s fiscal year ends on June 30 and the board will host a work session to begin their preparations. Fonley says they still have some work to do before they publish a budget, but it appears the district remains in good fiscal condition.

The Monday, March 18 meeting is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Adams Elementary School boardroom. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.
