For the second time in a week, a U.S. Senator who has thrown their hat into the 2020 Presidential Democratic pool will be making a campaign stop in Carroll. New York Senator, Kirsten Gillibrand will be meeting with area residents on Friday, April 19 at the Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) campus on Grant Road. With a focus on rural economic development in her swing through the state, Gillibrand is also promoting herself as the voice for the mostly marginalized members of American society: women; people of color; LGBTQ people; the young; and low income individuals. Doors for Friday’s event will open at 2:45 p.m. with the community discussion getting underway at 3 p.m. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.
