The City of Carroll will be holding a very brief, special council meeting beginning at 5:15 p.m. tonight (Monday) at the Carroll Fire Station on Bella Vista Drive. The special meeting, according to City Manager, Mike Pogge-Weaver, will be to address two resolutions that have a deadline of today. The first is a review and potential approval of a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) policy for the ability to apply local aesthetic, zoning, public works and fee schedules on small wireless facility installations. The City is accepting its responsibility and believes they are acting in accordance with codes to ensure public health, safety and welfare are not endangered. In conjunction with the policy, council members will be considering the publication of Small Wire Facility regulations, ensuring that installations in public rights-of-way are legally balanced between the rights of the applicants with those of the Carroll residents.
