The weather on Saturday has resulted in a change of schedule for the annual Lake View Shoreline Clean-up Day. This will now take place on Saturday, May 4. A joint effort between the City of Lake View, the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Lake View Hometown Pride Committee, the Lake View Community Club and Black Hawk Lake Protective Association, the annual event relies on volunteers to help get the lake ready for the spring and summer recreation season. Those wanting to help out are requested to bring their own gloves and equipment and report to Town Bay by 8 a.m. next Saturday. Lunch will be provided by the Lake View Hometown Pride Committee. The shoreline clean-up is followed just a few days later by the Lake View city-wide clean-up on Monday and Tuesday, May 6 and May 7. Cost to put out junk for pickup is only $10 and more details are available at city hall.
