Fourteen Iowa parks are partnering with the University of Iowa to host Wildlife Camps for kids across the state. “Wildlife camps have been a popular educational and recreational experience in the Iowa City area for more than 25 years and we are excited to share this program with kids across the state,” says Program Coordinator, Jay Gorsh. “Campers will spend a week exploring, learning and playing—in the wild.” The success of the camps for students entering the third through seventh grades has led to an expansion from nine in 2018 to 14 this year. Springbrook State Park at Guthrie Center will host a camp from June 17 through June 21 and Prairie Rose State Park near Harlan will hold their session from July 22 through July 26. Registration is now open and will be limited to 40 students per camp. Cost ranges from $100 to $150 per week, depending on the park selected.
