Eileen Fern Hoover, age 94, of Carroll, IA, and formerly of Lake City IA, passed away on Sunday, May 05, 2019 at Westview Care Center in Indianola, IA.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at the Carroll Presbyterian Church with Rev. Rikki Sorensen officiating. Visitation will be held at the church for one hour prior to the service. Graveside service will be in the Lake City Cemetery at 1:30 P.M. on Thursday. Born on May 23, 1924 in Carroll, IA, she was the daughter of Roy and Maryetta (Davis) Knight. Eileen grew up in Carroll and Graduated from Carroll High School in 1943 and then attended beauty school in Des Moines. She was united in marriage to Francis Hoover on January 15, 1946 in Carroll, IA. Eileen worked as a beautician for 30 years in Manning, Lake City, and Carroll. She was a member of the Carroll Presbyterian Church, Rainbow Girls, and Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, traveling, and spending time with her family.
Eileen is survived by two sons: Duane Hoover (Maryann) of Indianola, IA, and Dean Hoover (Jan) of Cedar Falls, IA; two granddaughters: Kim Gillman (Mike) of Urbandale, IA and Kris Dengler (Tom) of West Des Moines, IA; two grandsons Daniel Hoover (Justine) of Cedar Falls, IA, and David Hoover (Samantha McCombs) of Cedar Falls, IA; and five great grandchildren: Brody, Ellie, Kenneth, Eliza, and Miles.
Eileen was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Maryetta Knight; her husband Francis Hoover in 1972, two sisters: Mildred Smith and Lucille Carson; and a brother Warren Knight.
