Organizers in Lake View are gearing up for one of their most well-attended events of the year, the Sip & Sample. This will be the 11th year the Lake View Community Club has hosted the sampling gathering. City Administrator, Scott Peterson, is also a member of the group, and he says they have seen both the number of vendors and number of participants grow year after year.
More than 40 vendors are on the schedule to be available for the hundreds of participants that will gather in downtown Lake View at the start of next month. Peterson says they are preparing for as many as 800 people to attend.
In the early years of the Sip & Sample, vendors and guests originated locally. Peterson says people are making longer and longer drives to be a part of the fun.
Glasses can be purchased in advance from several places in Lake View, including: Farmers State Bank, Iowa State Bank, the Wooden Oar, Lake View Resort and Day Dreamers. They can also be purchased the day of the event, but supplies are limited. The 11th Annual Sip & Sample is held from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 1.
