The community of Westside is under a water boil advisory until further notice. City Clerk, Nicole Newman, says they experienced a couple of mainline breaks and had refilled the water tower, necessitating this precaution to protect their residents. The city is required to send in samples for testing after the repairs and associated remediation procedures are completed. In this instance, Westside will need to have two clean reports back before lifting the order. The second test has been sent in as of this morning (Monday), and they expect to have results back within about 16 hours, meaning if all goes well, the order could be lifted sometime Tuesday. Until then the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advise residents to boil any water that will be used for drinking, brushing teeth, preparing food or washing food containers for at least one minute. Let the water cool then pour into clean containers for storage. Use boiled or bottled water to wash fruits and vegetables and for mixing infant formula. Do not use ice makers or trays and be careful to avoid ingesting water while bathing. City authorities will notify Carroll Broadcasting as soon as the boil order is lifted.
