The Mayor of South Bend, Ind., Pete Buttigieg, will be making a special stop in Carroll on Thursday, July 4. Buttigieg will be joining other Carroll County Democrats for a family-friendly celebration from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Graham Park. “We are beyond excited to welcome ‘Mayor Pete’ to Carroll,” says Carroll County Democratic Party Chair, Peter Leo. “No matter your political stripes, you cannot deny that Pete Buttigieg is an impressive public servant and a top-tier contender for the Democratic nomination. This event is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to meet and hear from a gentleman who will be a prominent figure in national politics for years to come.” Food and nonalcoholic beverages will be provided and guests are welcome to bring their own beverages as well. There is no charge to attend, but a free-will donation to help cover costs would be appreciated. Under Buttigieg’s leadership, South Bend has seen job growth and investments in advanced industries, such as data and technology. He is a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford and a graduate of Harvard University. He served as a Lt. in the U.S. Navy Reserve, earning the Joint Service Commendation Medal.
