For the second consecutive year, the Coon Rapids Development Group is hosting a bike safety class for young riders. The second annual Bike Rodeo begins at 12:30 p.m. tomorrow (Wednesday) in the Coon Rapids-Bayard school parking lot. The program, which is designed for bicyclists between the ages of five and 14, will teach a variety of skills and rules, including: proper helmet fitting, bike inspections, safety tips, traffic laws and much more. Students are asked to bring their own closed-toed shoes, a helmet and a bike, scooter or moped. Individuals who do not have a helmet will be given one, and all participants will also receive front and back bike flashers. The bike rodeo is made possible thanks to generous donations from several local businesses, a list of which can be found included with this story on our website.
